The Ascension Catholic Bulldogs basketball team scored 71 points and restricted the visiting Independence Tigers to 68 in the Bulldogs non-league victory on Thursday.

The Bulldogs now sport a 6-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host West St. John for a non-league contest on Friday, January 19. Ascension Catholic will battle a Rams team coming off a 67-65 non-league win over Jefferson RISE Charter (Harvey, LA). The Rams record now stands at 4-13.

The Tigers (4-9) will now prepare for their contest against French Settlement (French Settlement, LA). The Lions come into the 2A District 7 contest with a 22-3 record. In their last contest, French Settlement edged Springfield (Springfield, LA), 71-49, in a non-league contest.
