Casa Grande Cougars (Casa Grande, AZ) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Mountain Pointe Pride (Phoenix, AZ), 54-51 in a league bout.

With the victory, Casa Grande upgrades its record to 6-12 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Higley (Gilbert, AZ) to play the Knights in a 5A San Tan bout on Monday, January 22. The Knights come into the bout with a record of 13-6. Higley lost 64-37 in their recent league match against Williams Field (Gilbert, AZ)

With the defeat, Mountain Pointe moves to 1-17 on the year. The Pride travel to Campo Verde (Gilbert, AZ) to meet the Coyotes in a 5A San Tan match on Friday, January 19. The Coyotes enter the match with a record of 13-6. Campo Verde lost 49-37 in their recent league match against Williams Field (Gilbert, AZ)
