The Burke County Bears basketball team scored 82 points and restricted the visiting Islands Sharks to 60 in the Bears league victory on Friday.

The Bears now sport a 13-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Jenkins County for a non-league contest on Saturday, January 20. Burke County will battle a War Eagles team coming off a 59-56 league loss to Portal (Portal, GA). The War Eagles record now stands at 11-3.

The Sharks (6-9) will now prepare for their contest against Benedictine (Savannah, GA). The Cadets come into the AAAA Region 3 contest with a 8-4 record. In their last contest, Benedictine was routed by New Hampstead (Savannah, GA), 59-58, in a league contest.
