Umpqua Valley Christian Monarchs (Roseburg, OR) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Glendale Pirates (Glendale, OR), 66-20 in a league bout.

With the victory, Umpqua Valley Christian upgrades its record to 15-2 on the campaign. The Monarchs host Powers (Powers, OR) to play the Cruisers in a 1A Skyline bout on Saturday, January 20. The Cruisers come into the bout with a record of 9-6. Powers lost 50-29 in their recent league bout against North Douglas (Drain, OR)

Next up, the Pirates play the Myrtle Point Bobcats (Myrtle Point, OR) in a 1A Skyline bout, on Saturday, January 20. Glendale will attempt to upgrade on its 1-6 season record. The Bobcats come into the bout with a 14-6 record after their 57-15 league win over Elkton (Elkton, OR).
