The Joliet West Tigers (Joliet, IL) basketball edged the visiting Thornton Wildcats (Harvey, IL), 58-55 in Monday's non-league bout.

The Tigers now possess a 11-8 record. They play next when they host Plainfield South for a SouthWest Prairie test on Friday, January 23.

The Wildcats (7-9) will now prepare for their test against Rich Township (Olympia Fields, IL). The Raptors come into the Southland test with a 12-10 record. In their last test, Rich Township was nipped by Chaney (Youngstown, OH), 55-50, in a non-league test.
