Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Gateway holds off Belle Vernon
January 20, 2023: Monroeville, PA 15146 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Gateway Gators (Monroeville, PA) and the visiting Belle Vernon Leopards (Belle Vernon, PA), saw Gateway's basketball squad hold off Belle Vernon by a tally of 53-49.
With the victory, Gateway improves its record to 10-3 on the campaign. The Gators host McKeesport (McKeesport, PA) to confront the Tigers in a WPIAL 5A 3 challenge on Friday, January 27. The Tigers come into the challenge with a record of 6-8. McKeesport won 64-57 in their recent non-league challenge against Steel Valley (Munhall, PA)
Next up, the Leopards confront the Southmoreland Scotties (Alverton, PA) in a WPIAL 4A 3 challenge, on Friday, January 27. Belle Vernon will attempt to improve on its 6-6 season record.
