Texas High School Basketball - New Deal overwhelms Lockney
January 20, 2023: Lockney, TX 79241 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the New Deal Lions (New Deal, TX) and the host Lockney Longhorns (Lockney, TX), saw New Deal's basketball squad wallop Lockney by a tally of 77-50.
With the victory, New Deal improves its record to 17-6 on the campaign. The Lions host Floydada (Floydada, TX) to play the Whirlwinds in a 2A Region I District 4 challenge on Tuesday, January 24. The Whirlwinds come into the challenge with a record of 24-5. Floydada won 116-27 in their recent league challenge against Sudan (Sudan, TX)
Next up, the Longhorns play the Smyer Bobcats (Smyer, TX) in a 2A Region I District 4 challenge, on Tuesday, January 24. Lockney will attempt to improve on its 10-11 season record. The Bobcats come into the challenge with a 5-19 record after their 65-27 league loss to Olton (Olton, TX).
