Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Northwest Mohawks (McDermott, OH) and the host Portsmouth West Senators (West Portsmouth, OH), saw Northwest's basketball squad knock off Portsmouth West by a count of 52-39.

With the victory, Northwest upgrades its record to 15-4 on the campaign. The Mohawks travel to West Union (West Union, OH) to play the Dragons in a non-league challenge on Saturday, January 21. The Dragons come into the challenge with a record of 1-9. West Union lost 62-21 in their recent league challenge against Manchester (Manchester, OH)

Next up, the Senators play the Oak Hill Oaks (Oak Hill, OH) in a Southern Ohio II challenge, on Tuesday, January 24. Portsmouth West will attempt to upgrade on its 5-10 season record.
