New Mexico High School Basketball - Quemado nips Hatch Valley
January 20, 2024: Quemado, NM 87829 Quemado Eagles (Quemado, NM) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Hatch Valley Bears (Hatch, NM), 49-44 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Quemado upgrades its record to 9-5 on the campaign. The Eagles host Ramah (Ramah, NM) to play the Mustangs in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 23. The Mustangs come into the bout with a record of 1-9. Ramah lost 86-15 in their recent non-league battle against Magdalena (Magdalena, NM)
The Bears (5-8) will now prepare for their battle against Tularosa (Tularosa, NM). The Wildcats come into the non-league battle with a 12-4 record. In their last battle, Tularosa was nudged by New Mexico Military Institute (Roswell, NM), 54-47, in a non-league battle.
