Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Shawnee Mission East Lancers (Shawnee Mission, KS) and the host Valley Center Hornets (Valley Center, KS), saw Shawnee Mission East's basketball squad wallop Valley Center by a tally of 71-40.

With the victory, Shawnee Mission East improves its record to 9-2 on the campaign. The Lancers host Rockhurst (Kansas City, MO) to confront the Hawklets in a non-league challenge on Friday, January 26. The Hawklets come into the challenge with a record of 11-6. Rockhurst won 62-52 in their recent non-league challenge against St. Louis University (St. Louis, MO)

Next up, the Hornets confront the Andover Central Jaguars (Andover, KS) in a Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail II challenge, on Tuesday, January 30. Valley Center will attempt to improve on its 2-9 season record.
