The Maize South Mavericks (Wichita, KS) basketball crushed the host Valley Center Hornets (Valley Center, KS), 57-34 in Wednesday's non-league test.

The Mavericks (7-0) will now prepare for their test against Haysville Campus (Wichita, KS). The Colts go into the non-league test with a 4-1 record. In their last test, Haysville Campus was trounced by Hutchinson (Hutchinson, KS), 51-49, in a non-league test.

The Hornets now own a 1-7 record. They play next when they travel to Salina Central for a non-league test on Friday, January 12. Valley Center will encounter a Mustangs squad coming off a 60-46 league loss to Andover Central (Andover, KS). The Mustangs record now stands at 2-4.
