Indiana High School Basketball - Union County tops Southwestern

January 20, 2024: Liberty, IN 47353

Union County Patriots (Liberty, IN) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Southwestern Spartans (Shelbyville, IN), 60-50 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Union County upgrades its record to 6-7 on the campaign. The Patriots host Centerville (Centerville, IN) to play the Bulldogs in a Tri-Eastern bout on Thursday, January 25. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 8-8. Centerville lost 71-30 in their recent non-league bout against Richmond (Richmond, IN)

Next up, the Spartans play the Waldron Mohawks (Waldron, IN) in a Mid-Hoosier bout, on Friday, January 26. Southwestern will attempt to upgrade on its 0-12 season record. The Mohawks come into the bout with a 4-7 record after their 56-37 non-league loss to Bethesda Christian (Brownsburg, IN).
