New Mexico High School Basketball - Cibola overwhelmed by Organ Mountain
January 20, 2024: Las Cruces, NM 88001 The Cibola Cougars basketball team (Albuquerque, NM), was overwhelmed 71-26 in Saturday's non-league battle with the host Organ Mountain Knights (Las Cruces, NM)
The Knights now possess a 10-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Gadsden for a 5A District 3 battle on Tuesday, January 23. Organ Mountain will battle a Panthers team coming off a 40-36 non-league win over Da Vinci (El Paso, TX). The Panthers record now stands at 6-9.
The Cougars (2-14) will now prepare for their battle against Atrisco Heritage Academy (Albuquerque, NM). The Jaguars come into the 5A District 1 battle with a 4-11 record. In their last battle, Atrisco Heritage Academy was overwhelmed by La Cueva (Albuquerque, NM), 63-38, in a non-league battle.
