In Saturday's league outing, the Wingate Bears (Fort Wingate, NM) basketball squad nipped the visiting Newcomb Skyhawks (Newcomb, NM), by a margin of 50-49.

The Bears (7-10) will now prepare for their outing against Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM). The Eagles go into the 3A District 1 outing with a 9-8 record. In their last outing, Navajo Prep got by Zuni (Zuni, NM), 67-31, in a league outing.
