Illinois High School Basketball - Sandburg holds off Elk Grove
January 20, 2025: Orland Park, IL 60462 The Sandburg Eagles basketball team scored 62 points and limited the visiting Elk Grove Grenadiers to 55 in the Eagles non-league triumph on Monday.
The Eagles now possess a 11-9 record. They play next when they travel to Stagg for a SouthWest Suburban game on Tuesday, January 21. Sandburg will confront a Chargers team coming off a 51-33 league loss to Lincoln-Way Central (New Lenox, IL). The Chargers record now stands at 0-18.
With the loss, Elk Grove falls to 2-17 on the campaign. The Grenadiers travel to Elgin (Elgin, IL) to confront the Maroons in a non-league game on Tuesday, January 21. The Maroons go into the game with a record of 2-19. Elgin lost 41-27 in their recent league game against South Elgin (South Elgin, IL)
