Gambell King Polar Bear (Gambell, AK) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Shishmaref Northern Lights (Shishmaref, AK), 55-50 in a league bout.

With the win, Gambell upgrades its record to 1-3 on the season. The King Polar Bear travel to Shaktoolik (Shaktoolik, AK) to play the Wolverines in a 1A Bering Sea bout on Saturday, January 21. The Wolverines go into the bout with a record of 5-1. Shaktoolik won 45-39 in their recent league bout against Shishmaref (Shishmaref, AK)

Next up, the Northern Lights play the Shaktoolik Wolverines (Shaktoolik, AK) in a 1A Bering Sea bout, on Saturday, January 21. Shishmaref will attempt to upgrade on its 2-2 season record.
