Texas High School Soccer - Nixon nudges Cornerstone Christian
January 21, 2023: Laredo, TX 78043 Nixon Mustangs (Laredo, TX) supporters were pleased Saturday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting Cornerstone Christian Warriors (San Antonio, TX), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.
Next, the Mustangs confront the Rio Grande City Rattlers (Rio Grande City, TX) in a 5A Region 4 District 30 challenge, on Tuesday, January 24. Nixon will attempt to move on its 3-2 season record. The Rattlers enter the challenge with a 1-6 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Los Fresnos (Los Fresnos, TX).
The Warriors now possess a 10-8 record. They take the field next when they host KIPP Austin Collegiate for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 24. Cornerstone Christian will confront a Cardinals team coming off a 3-2 non-league win over Tivy (Kerrville, TX). The Cardinals record now stands at 2-1.
