Alleghany Trojans (Sparta, NC) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Elkin Buckin' Elks (Elkin, NC), 68-36 in a league bout.

With the win, Alleghany upgrades its record to 9-9 on the season. The Trojans host North Stokes (Danbury, NC) to clash with the Vikings in a 1A Conference 36 bout on Friday, January 27. The Vikings go into the bout with a record of 17-3. North Stokes won 72-49 in their recent league bout against Starmount (Boonville, NC)

Next up, the Buckin' Elks clash with the East Wilkes Cardinals (Ronda, NC) in a 1A Conference 36 bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Elkin will attempt to upgrade on its 3-13 season record. The Cardinals go into the bout with a 7-10 record after their 55-51 non-league win over North Wilkes (Hays, NC).
