Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Shenango nips Freedom Area
January 23, 2023: New Castle, PA 16101 Fans at Monday's league challenge between the Shenango Wildcats (New Castle, PA) and the visiting Freedom Area Bulldogs (Freedom, PA), saw Shenango's basketball squad hold off Freedom Area by a tally of 62-57.
With the victory, Shenango improves its record to 11-4 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Riverside (Ellwood City, PA) to play the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 24. The Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 4-9. Riverside lost 56-17 in their recent non-league challenge against Union Area (New Castle, PA)
Next up, the Bulldogs play the Sewickley Academy (Sewickley, PA) in a WPIAL 2A 1 challenge, on Thursday, January 26. Freedom Area will attempt to improve on its 12-3 season record. The come into the challenge with a 5-10 record after their 60-53 league loss to Rochester (Rochester, PA).
