Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Laurel tops Shenango
January 11, 2023: New Castle, PA 16101 Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Laurel Spartan (New Castle, PA) and the visiting Shenango Wildcats (New Castle, PA), saw Laurel's basketball squad knock off Shenango by a count of 51-32.
With the victory, Laurel upgrades its record to 10-0 on the campaign. The Spartan travel to Riverside (Ellwood City, PA) to play the Panthers in a WPIAL 3A 1 challenge on Thursday, January 12. The Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 3-6. Riverside lost 60-19 in their recent league challenge against Neshannock (New Castle, PA)
Next up, the Wildcats play the Farrell Steelers (Farrell, PA) in a non-league challenge, on Sunday, January 15. Shenango will attempt to upgrade on its 7-4 season record. The Steelers come into the challenge with a 2-8 record after their 46-20 league win over Jamestown (Jamestown, PA).
