The Auburn Eagles basketball team scored 71 points and held the host Fort Chiswell Pioneers to 35 in the Eagles league triumph on Tuesday.

The Eagles now sport a 8-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Giles for a Mountain Empire contest on Thursday, January 25. Auburn will battle a Spartans team coming off a 59-32 league loss to Galax (Galax, VA). The Spartans record now stands at 3-11.

The Pioneers (8-8) will now prepare for their contest against George Wythe (Wytheville, VA). The Maroons enter the Mountain Empire contest with a 11-4 record. In their last contest, George Wythe triumphed over Bland County (Rocky Gap, VA), 73-44, in a league contest.
