February 2, 2024: Wytheville, VA 24382 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Auburn Eagles (Riner, VA) and the host George Wythe Maroons (Wytheville, VA), saw Auburn's basketball squad hold off George Wythe by a tally of 55-50.
With the victory, Auburn improves its record to 12-7 on the campaign. The Eagles host Lord Botetourt (Daleville, VA) to play the Cavaliers in a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 3. The Cavaliers come into the challenge with a record of 10-10. Lord Botetourt lost 84-58 in their recent league challenge against Northside (Roanoke, VA)
Next up, the Maroons play the Narrows Green Waves (Narrows, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, February 3. George Wythe will attempt to improve on its 14-5 season record. The Green Waves come into the challenge with a 18-1 record after their 92-66 league win over Bath County (Hot Springs, VA).
