The Newton Cardinals basketball team scored 58 points and held the visiting Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs to 52 in the Cardinals league triumph on Tuesday.

The Cardinals now sport a 8-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Pella for a Little Hawkeye contest on Friday, January 27.

The Mustangs (4-5) will now prepare for their contest against North Polk (Alleman, IA). The Comets enter the non-league contest with a 12-2 record.
