The Shelton Gaels basketball team (Shelton, CT), was overwhelmed 86-60 in Tuesday's non-league battle with the visiting Hand Tigers (Madison, CT)

The Tigers now possess a 8-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Guilford for a Southern Connecticut - Hammonasset battle on Thursday, January 26. Hand will confront a Grizzlies team coming off a 57-30 non-league win over Amity Regional (Woodbridge, CT). The Grizzlies record now stands at 6-3.

The Gaels (4-9) will now prepare for their battle against Career Magnet (New Haven, CT). The Panthers come into the Southern Connecticut - Oronoque battle with a 4-6 record. In their last battle, Career Magnet was routed by North Haven (North Haven, CT), 54-38, in a non-league contest.
