Illinois High School Basketball - Byron holds off Pecatonica
January 24, 2024: Pecatonica, IL 61063 Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Byron Tigers (Byron, IL) and the host Pecatonica Indians (Pecatonica, IL), saw Byron's basketball squad hold off Pecatonica by a tally of 57-55.
With the victory, Byron improves its record to 18-0 on the campaign. The Tigers host Lutheran (Rockford, IL) to confront the Crusaders in a Big Northern challenge on Saturday, January 27. The Crusaders come into the challenge with a record of 15-8. Lutheran won 81-57 in their recent non-league challenge against Lisle (Lisle, IL)
Next up, the Indians confront the Pearl City Wolves (Pearl City, IL) in a Northwest Upstate Illini - North challenge, on Friday, January 26. Pecatonica will attempt to improve on its 18-4 season record. The Wolves come into the challenge with a 8-13 record after their 59-55 league loss to Orangeville (Orangeville, IL).
