In Friday's league test, the Vela Sabercats (Edinburg, TX) basketball squad got by the visiting McAllen Bulldogs (McAllen, TX), by a score of 47-44.

Next, the Sabercats encounter the Sharyland Rattlers (Mission, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 31 test, on Tuesday, January 28. Vela will attempt to improve on its 29-4 season record.
