Downey Vikings (Downey, CA) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Mayfair Monsoons (Lakewood, CA), 54-50 in a league bout.

With the win, Downey upgrades its record to 23-3 on the season. The Vikings travel to Paramount (Paramount, CA) to play the Pirates in a Gateway bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Pirates go into the bout with a record of 15-9. Paramount lost 89-52 in their recent league bout against Mayfair (Lakewood, CA)

Next up, the Monsoons play the Paramount Pirates (Paramount, CA) in a Gateway bout, on Friday, January 27. Mayfair will attempt to upgrade on its 11-12 season record. The Pirates go into the bout with a 15-8 record after their 57-40 league loss to Dominguez (Compton, CA).
