The La Mirada Matadores basketball team scored 63 points and restricted the visiting Downey Vikings to 56 in the Matadores league victory on Wednesday.

The Matadores now sport a 18-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Paramount for a Gateway contest on Friday, January 20. La Mirada will battle a Pirates team coming off a 59-45 league loss to Downey (Downey, CA). The Pirates record now stands at 15-6.

The Vikings (21-2) will now prepare for their contest against Dominguez (Compton, CA). The Dons come into the Gateway contest with a 12-9 record. In their last contest, Dominguez was nudged by Mayfair (Lakewood, CA), 50-42, in a league contest.
