January 25, 2024: Madrid, IA 50156 Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Madrid Tigers (Madrid, IA) and the visiting Des Moines Christian Lions (Des Moines, IA), saw Madrid's basketball squad hold off Des Moines Christian by a tally of 58-53.
With the victory, Madrid improves its record to 15-3 on the campaign. The Tigers host Paton-Churdan (Churdan, IA) to play the Rockets in a non-league challenge on Thursday, January 25. The Rockets come into the challenge with a record of 0-16. Paton-Churdan lost 65-53 in their recent non-league challenge against West Harrison (Mondamin, IA)
Next up, the Lions play the Ogden Bulldogs (Ogden, IA) in a West Central challenge, on Friday, January 26. Des Moines Christian will attempt to improve on its 8-4 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 7-8 record after their 62-52 non-league win over Woodward Academy (Woodward, IA).
