Johnson County Central Thunderbirds (Tecumseh, NE) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Fairbury Jeffs (Fairbury, NE), 40-32 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Johnson County Central upgrades its record to 12-4 on the campaign. The Thunderbirds host Weeping Water (Weeping Water, NE) to play the Indians in a non-league bout on Monday, January 29. The Indians come into the bout with a record of 9-7. Weeping Water won 43-28 in their recent non-league bout against Falls City (Falls City, NE)

Next up, the Jeffs play the Wilber-Clatonia Wolverines (Wilber, NE) in a C1 District 1 bout, on Saturday, January 27. Fairbury will attempt to upgrade on its 5-12 season record. The Wolverines come into the bout with a 8-8 record after their 51-24 non-league win over Milford (Milford, NE).
