The Central Valley Cougars topped the visiting Heartland Lutheran Red Hornets basketball team by a final score of 46-29 in Thursday's non-league game.

In their next game, the Cougars face the Anselmo-Merna Coyotes (Merna, NE) in a D2 District 8 game, on Monday, January 29. Central Valley will attempt to move on its 10-7 season record.

With the defeat, Heartland Lutheran moves to 5-11 on the year. The Red hornets host St. Edward (St. Edward, NE) to face the Beavers in a non-league game on Friday, January 26. The Beavers enter the game with a record of 0-14. St. Edward lost 54-13 in their recent non-league game against Chambers/Wheeler Central (Chambers, NE)
