January 25, 2025: Vian, OK 74962 Vian Wolverines (Vian, OK) boosters left the game satisfied Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the visiting Wilburton Diggers (Wilburton, OK), 48-35 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Vian upgrades its record to 7-9 on the year. The Wolverines host Westville (Westville, OK) to face the Yellowjackets in a Big Eight match on Tuesday, January 28. The Yellowjackets enter the match with a record of 2-13. Westville won 45-37 in their recent non-league match against McCurtain (McCurtain, OK)
The Diggers now sport a 5-13 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Talihina for a Black Diamond match on Monday, January 27. Wilburton will face a Golden Tigers team coming off a 47-45 non-league loss to Poteau (Poteau, OK). The Golden Tigers record now stands at 7-5.
