In Saturday's league contest, the host Dekaney Wildcats basketball team scored a close 36-31 triumph over the Eisenhower Eagles.

The Wildcats (6-16) will now prepare for their contest against Spring (Spring, TX). The Lions go into the 6A Region II District 14 contest with a 16-16 record. In their last contest, Spring nipped MacArthur (Houston, TX), 42-20, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Eagles battle the Nimitz Cougars (Houston, TX) in a 6A Region II District 14 contest, on Wednesday, January 29. Eisenhower will attempt to better on its 3-19 season record. The Cougars go into the contest with a 21-8 record after their 61-46 league win over Benjamin Davis (Houston, TX).
