Virginia High School Basketball - Radford nips Alleghany

January 26, 2024: Covington, VA 24426

Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Radford Bobcats (Radford, VA) and the host Alleghany Cougars (Covington, VA), saw Radford's basketball squad hold off Alleghany by a tally of 50-48.

With the victory, Radford improves its record to 6-7 on the campaign. The Bobcats travel to Pulaski County (Dublin, VA) to play the Cougars in a non-league challenge on Monday, January 29. The Cougars come into the challenge with a record of 5-12. Pulaski County lost 70-35 in their recent league challenge against Patrick Henry (Roanoke, VA)

Next up, the Cougars play the Fort Defiance Indians (Fort Defiance, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 27. Alleghany will attempt to improve on its 12-4 season record. The Indians come into the challenge with a 7-7 record after their 90-68 league win over Wilson Memorial (Fishersville, VA).
