Virginia High School Basketball - Carroll County crushes Alleghany
January 2, 2024: Hillsville, VA 24343 Carroll County Cavaliers (Hillsville, VA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Alleghany Cougars (Covington, VA), 91-61 in a league bout.
With the win, Carroll County upgrades its record to 10-0 on the season. The Cavaliers travel to Glenvar (Salem, VA) to play the Highlanders in a Three Rivers bout on Wednesday, January 3. The Highlanders go into the bout with a record of 2-5. Glenvar won 58-55 in their recent non-league bout against Christiansburg (Christiansburg, VA)
Next up, the Cougars play the James River Knights (Buchanan, VA) in a Three Rivers bout, on Thursday, January 4. Alleghany will attempt to upgrade on its 8-3 season record. The Knights go into the bout with a 2-8 record after their 76-26 league loss to Floyd County (Floyd, VA).
