Newton Local Indians (Pleasant Hill, OH) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Tri-County North Panthers (Lewisburg, OH), 63-60 in a league bout.

With the win, Newton Local upgrades its record to 9-4 on the season. The Indians host Brookville (Brookville, OH) to play the Blue Devils in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 27. The Blue Devils go into the bout with a record of 11-6. Brookville won 67-48 in their recent league bout against Madison (Middletown, OH)

Next up, the Panthers play the Mississinawa Valley Blackhawks (Union City, OH) in a Western Ohio bout, on Friday, February 2. Tri-County North will attempt to upgrade on its 1-15 season record. The Blackhawks go into the bout with a 1-16 record after their 62-43 non-league loss to Muncie Burris (Muncie, IN).
