Ohio High School Basketball - Newton Local tops Mississinawa Valley

Newton Local Indians (Pleasant Hill, OH) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Mississinawa Valley Blackhawks (Union City, OH), 56-45 in a league bout.

With the victory, Newton Local upgrades its record to 4-4 on the campaign. The Indians host Dixie (New Lebanon, OH) to play the Greyhounds in a Western Ohio bout on Friday, January 5. The Greyhounds come into the bout with a record of 4-3. Dixie lost 69-52 in their recent non-league bout against Brookville (Brookville, OH)

Next up, the Blackhawks play the Franklin Monroe Jets (Pitsburg, OH) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, December 27. Mississinawa Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 1-6 season record. The Jets come into the bout with a 6-1 record after their 74-52 non-league win over Fairlawn (Sidney, OH).
