In Thursday's league match, the host New Ulm Eagles basketball team scored a decisive 72-28 triumph over the Blue Earth Buccaneers.

In their next game, the Eagles meet the Hutchinson Tigers (Hutchinson, MN) in a non-league match, on Monday, January 31. New Ulm will attempt to better on its 8-7 season record. The Tigers enter the match with a 11-7 record after their 62-47 non-league win over Jordan (Jordan, MN).

With the defeat, Blue Earth moves to 4-11 on the year. The Buccaneers travel to Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial (Lake Crystal, MN) to meet the Knights in a AA Section 2 match on Saturday, January 29.
