The Glenvar Highlanders basketball team scored 60 points and restricted the host Alleghany Mountaineers to 52 in the Highlanders league victory on Friday.

The Highlanders now sport a 12-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Floyd County for a Three Rivers contest on Tuesday, January 31. Glenvar will battle a Buffaloes team coming off a 66-59 non-league win over Staunton (Staunton, VA). The Buffaloes record now stands at 14-4.

The Mountaineers (6-12) will now prepare for their contest against East Rockingham (Elkton, VA). The Eagles come into the non-league contest with a 11-5 record. In their last contest, East Rockingham prevailed over Mountain View (Quicksburg, VA), 73-42, in a league contest.
