In Tuesday's league outing, the Glenvar Highlanders (Salem, VA) basketball squad edged the visiting Alleghany Mountaineers (Covington, VA), by a count of 57-54.

The Highlanders (8-5) will now prepare for their outing against Floyd County (Floyd, VA). The Buffaloes go into the Three Rivers outing with a 9-4 record. In their last outing, Floyd County held off Patrick County (Stuart, VA), 67-31, in a non-league outing.

The Mountaineers now hold a 6-6 record. They play next when they travel to Grayson County for a non-league outing on Wednesday, January 11. Alleghany will clash with a Blue Devils squad coming off a 78-36 league loss to George Wythe (Wytheville, VA). The Blue Devils record now stands at 2-8.
