The Blue River Valley Vikings basketball team scored 50 points and held the host Monroe Central Golden Bears to 33 in the Vikings league triumph on Friday.

The Vikings now sport a 12-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Union City for a non-league contest on Saturday, January 28. Blue River Valley will battle a Indians team coming off a 51-47 league loss to Hagerstown (Hagerstown, IN). The Indians record now stands at 2-11.

The Golden Bears (6-11) will now prepare for their contest against Alexandria-Monroe (Alexandria, IN). The Tigers enter the non-league contest with a 7-9 record. In their last contest, Alexandria-Monroe was defeated by Mississinewa (Gas City, IN), 63-57, in a league contest.
