January 27, 2023: DeRidder, LA 70634 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Merryville Panthers (Merryville, LA) and the host East Beauregard Trojans (DeRidder, LA), saw Merryville's basketball squad overcome East Beauregard by a tally of 57-43.
With the victory, Merryville improves its record to 15-10 on the campaign. The Panthers host Gueydan (Gueydan, LA) to confront the Bears in a 1A District 5 challenge on Tuesday, January 31. The Bears come into the challenge with a record of 1-9.
Next up, the Trojans confront the Basile Bearcats (Basile, LA) in a 1A District 5 challenge, on Tuesday, January 31. East Beauregard will attempt to improve on its 1-14 season record. The Bearcats come into the challenge with a 0-9 record after their 75-30 league loss to Elton (Elton, LA).
