New Mexico High School Basketball - Penasco over McCurdy
January 27, 2024: Penasco, NM 87553 Fans at Saturday's league challenge between the Penasco Panthers (Penasco, NM) and the visiting McCurdy Bobcats (Espanola, NM), saw Penasco's basketball squad overcome McCurdy by a tally of 50-30.
With the victory, Penasco improves its record to 10-8 on the campaign. The Panthers host Escalante (Tierra Amarilla, NM) to confront the Lobos in a 2A District 5 challenge on Thursday, February 1. The Lobos come into the challenge with a record of 5-13. Escalante lost 50-14 in their recent league challenge against Mesa Vista (Ojo Caliente, NM)
Next up, the Bobcats confront the Dulce Hawks (Dulce, NM) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 30. McCurdy will attempt to improve on its 5-9 season record. The Hawks come into the challenge with a 10-8 record after their 54-39 non-league loss to Santa Fe Indian (Santa Fe, NM).
