The Stratford Spartans (Houston, TX) basketball felled the host Spring Woods Tigers (Houston, TX), 59-48 in Saturday's league test.

The Spartans (16-11) will now prepare for their test against Cypress Ridge (Houston, TX). The Rams go into the 6A Region III District 17 test with a 13-16 record. In their last test, Cypress Ridge was beaten by Memorial (Houston, TX), 45-41, in a league test.

The Tigers now own a 8-17 record. They play next when they travel to Cy-Fair for a 6A Region III District 17 test on Wednesday, January 31. Spring Woods will encounter a Bobcats squad coming off a 47-11 league win over Northbrook (Houston, TX). The Bobcats record now stands at 12-18.
