Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Center Roughriders (Center, TX) and the host Jasper Bulldogs (Jasper, TX), saw Center's basketball squad knock off Jasper by a count of 69-49.

With the victory, Center upgrades its record to 17-8 on the campaign. The Roughriders host Palestine (Palestine, TX) to play the Wildcats in a 4A Region III District 17 challenge on Tuesday, February 1. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a record of 18-8. Palestine won 76-65 in their recent league challenge against Rusk (Rusk, TX)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Carthage Bulldogs (Carthage, TX) in a 4A Region III District 17 challenge, on Tuesday, February 1. Jasper will attempt to upgrade on its 16-9 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 6-9 record after their 62-41 league win over Hudson (Lufkin, TX).
