Kentucky High School Basketball - South Laurel holds off Bell County
January 28, 2023: Pineville, KY 40977 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the South Laurel Cardinals (London, KY) and the host Bell County Bobcats (Pineville, KY), saw South Laurel's basketball squad hold off Bell County by a tally of 72-71.
With the victory, South Laurel improves its record to 12-9 on the campaign. The Cardinals travel to Williamsburg (Williamsburg, KY) to confront the Yellowjackets in a District 50 challenge on Tuesday, January 31. The Yellowjackets come into the challenge with a record of 4-9. Williamsburg won 61-49 in their recent non-league challenge against Burgin (Burgin, KY)
Next up, the Bobcats confront the Harlan Green Dragons (Harlan, KY) in a District 52 challenge, on Tuesday, January 31. Bell County will attempt to improve on its 14-6 season record. The Green Dragons come into the challenge with a 4-10 record after their 62-56 non-league loss to Rockcastle County (Mt. Vernon, KY).
