The Springport Spartans basketball squad (Springport, MI), was nudged 47-40 in Tuesday's league battle with the host Union City Chargers (Union City, MI)

With the victory, Union City advances its record to 10-5 on the year. The Chargers host Maple Valley (Vermontville, MI) to meet the Lions in a Big 8 battle on Friday, January 31. The Lions enter the battle with a record of 6-10. Maple Valley lost 78-40 in their recent league battle against Stockbridge (Stockbridge, MI)
