January 30, 2023: Waverly, IA 50677 Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Waverly-Shell Rock Go-Hawks (Waverly, IA) and the visiting Mason City Mohawks (Mason City, IA), saw Waverly-Shell Rock's basketball squad overcome Mason City by a tally of 68-54.
With the victory, Waverly-Shell Rock improves its record to 12-4 on the campaign. The Go-Hawks travel to Crestwood (Cresco, IA) to confront the Cadets in a Northeast Iowa challenge on Friday, February 3. The Cadets come into the challenge with a record of 12-5. Crestwood won 60-49 in their recent non-league challenge against St. Ansgar (St. Ansgar, IA)
Next up, the Mohawks confront the Roosevelt Roughriders (Des Moines, IA) in a Freelance challenge, on Tuesday, January 31. Mason City will attempt to improve on its 6-9 season record. The Roughriders come into the challenge with a 8-6 record after their 51-44 non-league win over Marshalltown (Marshalltown, IA).
