Iowa High School Basketball - Charles City nips Waverly-Shell Rock
January 20, 2023: Charles City, IA 50616 Charles City Comets (Charles City, IA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Waverly-Shell Rock Go-Hawks (Waverly, IA), 63-57 in a league bout.
With the victory, Charles City upgrades its record to 10-6 on the campaign. The Comets travel to Forest City (Forest City, IA) to play the Indians in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Indians come into the bout with a record of 2-10. Forest City won 70-67 in their recent league bout against North Iowa (Buffalo Center, IA)
Next up, the Go-Hawks play the Benton Bobcats (Van Horne, IA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 21. Waverly-Shell Rock will attempt to upgrade on its 9-4 season record. The Bobcats come into the bout with a 4-11 record after their 66-38 league win over South Tama County (Tama, IA).
