Iowa High School Basketball - South O'Brien nudges Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union
January 30, 2024: Paullina, IA 51046 South O'Brien Wolverines (Paullina, IA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union Royals (Marcus, IA), 66-64 in a league bout.
With the win, South O'Brien upgrades its record to 14-3 on the season. The Wolverines travel to Sioux Central (Sioux Rapids, IA) to clash with the Rebels in a non-league bout on Thursday, February 1. The Rebels go into the bout with a record of 6-9. Sioux Central won 62-19 in their recent league bout against Storm Lake St. Mary (Storm Lake, IA)
Next up, the Royals confront the St. Mary's Hawks (Remsen, IA) in a War Eagle challenge, on Thursday, February 1. Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union will attempt to improve on its 11-5 season record. The Hawks come into the challenge with a 14-3 record after their 55-41 league win over West Sioux (Hawarden, IA).
